1951: Victoria win fourth AAFC interstate carnival, held in Melbourne. Windsor (QANFL) win third consecutive premiership after downing Mayne in grand final by 2 goals, 11.18 (84) to 9.18 (72).  Box Hill and Moorabbin admitted to VFA. 1952: The VFL conducts a round of home and away matches at various country and interstate centres.  The Tasmanian State Premiership continues in abeyance.  Ainslie (ACTAFL) win premiership with 100% record: played 17, won 17. Port Melbourne appeared in every VFA grand final between 1950 and 1957 but with the exception of the 1953 side (pictured above) success eluded them. 

1953: Selection of first ever All Australian side after twelfth interstate carnival in Adelaide. VFL win title for 10th time. The Victorians also emerged successful from fifth AAFC interstate championships, held like the senior carnival in Adelaide. Bernie Naylor (South Fremantle - WANFL) kicks Australian record 167 goals for season.  The Tasmanian State Premiership is once again not contested. 1954: Section two of Australian interstate championships held for second time at various venues around Australia and won by Australian Amateurs.  Merv McIntosh (Perth) wins third Sandover Medal. South Fremantle (WANFL) win third consecutive premiership. Footscray win first ever VFL premiership. Western Districts win third successive QANFL flag.  The Tasmanian State Premiership resumes, and expands to include the premiers of the North West Football Union (NWFU).
