1961: Western Australia win fifteenth Australian interstate championship series, held in Brisbane.  Hawthorn clinch first ever VFL premiership with 13.16 (94) to 7.9 (51) grand final defeat of FootscraySwan Districts 17.9 (111) defeat East Perth 12.15 (87) for first ever WANFL flag. 1964: Central District and Woodville enter SANFL producing a 10 club competition. QANFL becomes Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL). Moorabbin suspended by VFA after announcing that it would be sharing its facilities with VFL club St Kilda in 1965.  Ninth AAFC interstate carnival held in Adelaide; Victoria win for eighth time. 1965: Section Two of Australian interstate championships, held in Sydney and Brisbane, won by Australian Amateurs. South Australia 12.11 (83) defeat VFL 3.1 (19) in Adelaide - VFL's lowest interstate match score since the inception of the system of scoring by points in 1897. Port Adelaide 12.8 (80) defeat Sturt 12.5 (77) before record SANFL grand final crowd of 62,543.  Brighton-Caulfield (VFA) renamed CaulfieldWerribee admitted to VFA.  The VFA cancels its permit agreement with the VFL in protest at St Kilda's move to Moorabbin and North Melbourne's displacement of Coburg.
