1967: Bill Walker (Swan Districts) wins third Sandover Medal after tying with Claremont's John Parkinson. Launceston hosts tenth AAFC carnival, won by Victoria for seventh consecutive time and ninth occasion overall.  The deciding match of the Tasmanian State Premiership between Wynyard and North Hobart is abandoned and declared a 'no result' after spectators invade the field of play before the final siren (for a detailed contemporary review of the match, click here).  Grand final results - VFL: Richmond 16.18 (114) d. 1968: Australian Amateurs wins section two of Australian interstate championships, held in Canberra.  Perth 16.14 (110) defeat East Perth 13.8 (86) to win 3rd WANFL premiership in row. Sturt gain third successive SANFL premiership. Carlton 13.15 (93) defeat Sturt 6.20 (56) in first unofficial club championship of Australia (CoA) play off in Adelaide. 1969: Seventeenth Australian interstate carnival won by VFL in Adelaide. Dennis 'Fred' Phillis (Glenelg) kicks SANFL record 137 goals for season and wins Magarey Medal - first full forward in any of the three major football states (Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia) to win such an award. Sturt 24.15 (159) defeat Glenelg 13.16 (94) for fourth consecutive SANFL flag.  VFA rejects ANFC's demands that it re-enter into a permit agreement with the VFL and as a result has its membership of the national body revoked. 1970: Sturt 12.13 (85) defeat Glenelg 9.10 (64) for 5th SANFL flag in row. Ted Whitten (Footscray) retires after VFL record 321 games. Lindsay Head (West Torrens) retires after SANFL record 327 games. VFL finals attendance records broken at every finals match. In grand final, Carlton 17.9 (111) defeat Collingwood 14.17 (101) [see GREAT GAMES section] watched by 121,696. VFL Park, Waverley used for first time. 1971: ACT win section two of Australian interstate championships, held in Brisbane. Ian Stewart transfers from St Kilda, where he had won two Brownlows, to Richmond, immediately adding a third.
