Phillis (Glenelg) kicks SANFL record 137 goals for season and wins Magarey Medal
- first full forward in any of the three major football states (Victoria, South
Australia and Western Australia) to win such an award. Sturt

VFA rejects ANFC's demands that it re-enter into a permit agreement with the VFL
