Coach:  Darrel Baldock (Latrobe) - Arguably the greatest Tasmanian player of all time, and steadily carving out a reputation for himself as a fine coach.  Will accept nothing less than that his charges - win or lose - perform to their full potential.

Tony Haenen (North Launceston)

25 192cm 89.5kg Ruckman and centre half back.  Formerly South Melbourne, he is at home in both positions.  An excellent mark and strong kick.  Has played extremely well this season.
2 Max Urquhart (Wynyard) 30 183cm 83.5kg Utility.  Experienced campaigner who previously played with Collingwood.  Able to be used anywhere, he is the right type for championship football where versatility is a prime requisite.

George McInnes (Wynyard)

25 191cm 98.5kg Ruckman.  Formerly with Richmond in the VFL.  Has had mixed success in Tasmania because of injury, but has now struck top form.  A strong mark and great team player.  Biggest player in the team.

Lance Styles (Scottsdale)

20 188cm 84.5kg Ruckman.  A young player of undoubted ability with a great future.  Lance has come back with great spirit and determination after a severe head injury.  He is a high flyer and good tapping ruck.  Strong player round the ground and a good kick for goal.

Bob Whitehouse (Clarence)

23 188cm 90.5kg Ruckman and centre half forward.  Another young player who has previously represented the state.  A great high mark and good kick.  A good player in any key position as well as on the ball.

Jim Frost (Ulverstone)

26 191cm 92kg Ruckman.  Played for Tasmania with distinction against Tasmania a couple of seasons ago.  A great trier and popular with his team mates.  Has struck good form this season and is starring in the ruck.  Splendid high mark and good kick for goal.

Ian Barwick (Longford)

19 187cm 89.5kg Half back.  A strong player.  Improving with every match and should have a great future after a little more experience in big matches.  A strong mark and long clearing kick.

Trevor Sprigg (Glenorchy)

25 185cm 88kg Centreman.  Needs no introduction to the football public of Western Australia.  A former East Fremantle player, Trevor took last season to settle down as captain-coach of his new club, but has struck top form this season.  A sure mark and good kick and plays the game hard.  An asset to Tasmanian football and doing well with his team this season.

19 180cm 87kg Half forward.  Another strong, young and up and coming player with a bright future.  Usually plays on the forward line but would be a good utility player for the team.  Improving with every match and should give a good account of himself in Perth.

Bill Harris (Latrobe)

20 184cm 81.5kg Full forward.  One of Darrel Baldock's protégés and is as keen as mustard.  With his strong marking and good goal kicking he is developing into a class forward, reads the game well and makes good position.

Ricky Graham (New Norfolk)

25 180cm 83kg Utility.  Ricky came from Geelong and is giving a great contribution tot he game in this state.  A really polished player, particularly in a ruck-cum-rover role.  Sets a great example to his team mates and really keeps things moving.

Stuart Palfreyman (Sandy Bay)

22 180cm 74.5kg Rover.  Left Sandy Bay a couple of seasons ago to transfer in his industry and played well with Geelong.  Since returning has become a strong utility player and is having a good season.  A sure mark and accurate kick and developing into a class rover or centreline player.

Robin Norris (Clarence)

22 185cm 83kg Full back.  Heir apparent to full back Paul Vinar has had to wait his chance for a couple of seasons, but has really seized his opportunity this season and is playing well.  A close checking full back with a sure pair of hands and long kick.  Is in good form and should do well.

Graeme Mackey (Sandy Bay)

23 178cm 80.5kg Half forward.  A really talented player.  A great battler who gets the ball and knows how to dispose of it quickly and accurately.  A high mark for his size and a good kick.  Is having a great season in the centre but is equally at home on the forward line.

Bob Wilson (Scottsdale)

27 180cm 79.5kg Ruckman.  Is a great team player who brings others into the play with quick and accurate handball.  A really good ruck-cum-rover type of player.

Kerry Doran (Sandy Bay)

26 178cm 83kg Back pocket.  Has represented the state several times with great distinction.  A fine type of back line player.  Excellent judgement and good clearing kick.  Can also adapt to other positions on the field.

Mike Booth (New Norfolk)

25 191cm 85.5kg Ruckman.  First time up for Tasmania after being very close to selection in the past couple of seasons.  A very high mark and long clearing kick.  Has been in great form this season and thoroughly earned his place in the team.  Playing particularly well in the back pocket.

Max Hadley (Scottsdale)

25 183cm 77.5kg Rover.  A former half back who has developed into a classy rover.  A strong player able to get the ball away from the packs and is a sure kick for goal when resting in the pocket.

Mike Smart (Longford)

27 183cm 79.5kg Ruck-rover.  Like Trevor Sprigg, needs no introduction to Western Australia.  Previously from Claremont - Tasmania's host club at this championship - he will be welcomed back by his home team.  Has been playing well this season and is another great acquisition to the game in this state.  An excellent forward or follower.

Graeme Shephard (Cooee)

23 175cm 76kg Rover.  A player who reads the play well and is a first class rover-forward.  He can play on the centre line with equal ability.  Has had experience in Victoria, and since returning to Tasmania has given his club great service.

Jim Leitch (Scottsdale)

26 183cm 73kg Wingman.  A real flyer on the wing and a steady and consistent performer for several seasons.  A good mark and kick.

Carl Gaby (Hobart)

22 178cm 83kg Wingman.  A very talented centreline player with excellent disposal.  A great ball getter and brings his forwards right into the game with his accurate passes and long kicks to position.

Stuart Palmer (City-South)

22 183cm 71kg Wingman or half forward.  An elusive player with plenty of pace.  Takes a good high mark and is a good kick for goal.

Darryl Sutton (Glenorchy)

19 185cm 79kg Full forward.  One of the up and coming forwards in the state.  A spectacular leaper and fast leader with a very promising future.  Son of former Tasmanian player Lou Sutton.

Gary Davis (Launceston)

22 179cm 73kg Back pocket.  A dedicated player with great judgement and plenty of dash.  A close checking player with a sure pair of hands and with good clearing kicks to his team mates.
