BOOLEROO CENTRE-MELROSE-WILMINGTON (BMW)Current Affiliation: Northern Areas Football Association (NAFA) since 1991 Formed: 1991 as a result of a merger between the Booleroo Centre and Wilmington-Melrose Football Clubs Colours: Red, blue and gold Emblem: Lions Senior Premierships: 2001, 2005 (2 total) Mail Medallists: Greg Fiebig 2001; Bradley Taylor 2005; Simon George 2006 (3 total) Booleroo Centre-Melrose-Wilmington Football Club (understandably normally abbreviated as 'BMW') came into being in 1991 when Booleroo Centre and Wilmington-Melrose amalgamated. Both merger partners had been members of the NAFA since 1979. Prior to that they both competed in the Flinders Football Association. BMW has twice enjoyed premiership success in recent years but the 2007 season was disappointing as the side managed only 6 wins from 16 minor round matches to finish fifth (of six). Where now? or |
