Jason Cotter enjoyed an illustrious QAFL career as a player with Southport, winning 2 Grogan Medals, playing in no fewer than 6 premiership teams, and representing Queensland on a dozen occasions in both inter-league and state of origin matches. He has since put his experience as a player to good use as a coach, enjoying success at Palm Beach, Broadbeach and, latterly, Southport, where he has so far overseen 4 premierships. Although many of the more successful coaches in Queensland football history have hailed from interstate, Cotter's achievements arguably outstrip any of them, especially when you consider how much the overall standard of the game has improved in the last decade. |
