BACCHUS MARSH (Maddingley-Bacchus Marsh)

Current Affiliation:  Ballarat Football League (BFL) since 1979

Formed:  1979 as Maddingley-Bacchus Marsh, by means of a merger between the Maddingley and Bacchus Marsh Football Clubs; renamed Bacchus Marsh in 1983

Colours:  Black, red and gold

Emblem:  Cobras

Senior Premierships:  Nil

Henderson Medallists:  Wayne Cracknell 1997 (1 total)

The Cobras were formed in 1979 when Ballarat Football League club Maddingley merged with Bacchus Marsh of the Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh Football League. Initially known as Maddingley-Bacchus Marsh the 'Maddingley' part of their name was dropped in 1983. The seniors have yet to claim a flag, but went close in both 1995 and 1999, when they contested the grand final. The club's only premiership in any grade was won in 1987 by the under eighteens.
