Formed: 1934, when the Ballarat Football League (BFL) and Wimmera District Football League (WDFL) agreed to a partnership arrangement whereby the two leagues' member clubs would contest a joint premiership. The arrangement was conducted very much on a trial basis, with the two leagues maintaining their separate identities, administrative set-ups etc.
Disbanded: 1936, after three seasons which saw the Ballarat clubs becoming increasingly dominant, and spectator interest, particularly in Ballarat, diminishing alarmingly. In 1937, the four club Ballarat Football League resumed, while the four Wimmera-based clubs joined with five clubs from the Mid-Wimmera Football League (MWFL) to form the Wimmera Football League (WFL).
Participating Clubs Showing Overall Success Rates: Ballarat Imperial (BFL, 76.0%), Ballarat Imperial (BFL, 53.9%), Horsham (WDFL, 52.9%), Golden Point (BFL, 51.9%), South Ballarat (BFL, 44.3%), Stawell (WDFL, 42.7%), Warracknabeal (WDFL, 41.2%), Ararat (WDFL, 30.0%)
