The Swans have enjoyed only sporadic premiership success since commencing in the Mininera and District Football League in 1965. Most recently, they went top in 1999 thanks to a 15.8 (98) to 9.13 (67) grand final defeat of a Tatyoon side that had triumphed when the two sides had clashed at the same stage a year earlier. Caramut also qualified for the 2001 grand final but lost by an embarrassing 111 point margin to Wickliffe-Lake Bolac.

The club’s other grades have managed similarly intermittent success with the reserves claiming flags in 1988 and 1991 and the under age side in 1984 and 1994.
