Chirnside Park’s senior grade team commenced in 1991 as a member of the Victorian Amateur Football Association’s G North division. Prior to that the club had fielded sides in various junior age groups since 1978. For the 2000 season the Panthers transferred their allegiance to the Eastern Football League and have competed since in division four of that competition. As yet, there have been no senior grade premierships, but the side came agonisingly close in 2008, reaching the grand final only to lose by 3 points to Heathmont.
