CITY

Affiliation History:  Queensland Football League (QFL) 1905-13

Formed:  1905

Colours:  Black and white

Emblem:  Magpies

Senior Premierships:  1905-6 (2 total)

Established in 1905, City was a initially force to be reckoned, claiming QFL premierships in both of its first two seasons.  In 1905 it topped the ladder after the minor round and won the premiership at the expense of Valley without needing to invoke its right of challenge.  In 1906, City thrashed minor premiers Brisbane in the grand final by 54 points, 10.11 (71) to 2.5 (17).

The 1908 season saw City dominate the competition during the home and away rounds, only to crumble when it mattered in the finals.  It was to be the club's last legitimate assault on the flag.  Five years later, the City Australian Football Club folded.
