No premierships were won, but in 1903 Congupna reached the grand final, losing to Drumanure by 6 goals. After world war two the club’s history becomes clearer. As a member of the Kyabram District Football Association a premiership was claimed in 1956, and there was also a losing grand final appearance four years later. In 1962 Congupna commenced in the Benalla-Tungamah Football League reaching the grand final in each of its first three seasons. The 1962 clash with Dookie was lost, but in 1963 and 1964 the side scored wins against Mulwala and Tungamah respectively. In 1967 the name of the competition was changed to the Tungamah Football League, with Congupna achieving further premiership victories in 1971, 1978, 1991 and 1993. Distinctively nicknamed ‘The Road’, Congupna has since 1997 competed in the Murray Football League, with a losing grand final against Cobram in 1998 the closest the club has come to procuring a senior grade flag. Congupna’s most recent premiership victory in any grade was achieved by the under seventeens in 2007. Where now? or
