Based at Hallett Cove, and originally known by that name, the Cobras have enjoyed continuous membership of the SFL since 1984, winning a Division Two premiership in 1998. When the SFL reverted to a single division format in 2002 they struggled at first to hold their own, but have since become one of the strongest sides in the competition, culminating in a first ever senior division one premiership in 2008, achieved at the expense of Morphett Vale.
