ELEY PARK

Current Affiliation:  Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) since 1992

Home Ground:  Whitehorse Reserve, Maroondah Highway, Box Hill

Formed:  1992

Colours:  Royal blue and gold

Emblem:  Sharks

Senior VAFA Premierships:  F Section - 1999 (1 total)

Senior Competition Best and Fairest Awards:  D4 Section Best and Fairest Award - David Payne 2006 (1 total)

The Sharks have spent much of the time since their formation in 1992 participating only in the VAFA's Club XVIII competition as they have not been in a position to field a reserves team.  However, they did win a senior premiership in F Section in 1999, beating Albert Park in the grand final by 14 points, 8.9 (57) to 5.13 (43).

The 2006 season saw Eley Park competing in D4 Section, with the seniors showing some promise to win 6 of their 18 games, and the reserves doing just enough to avoid the wooden spoon with 2 wins.  Meanwhile, David Payne's victory in the D4 Section best and fairest award represented a significant milestone in the club's development.

By contrast, the 2007 season proved somewhat disappointing as the side only managed 4 wins for the year to finish in 11th place out of a dozen teams. There was considerable improvement in 2008, however, as the Sharks doubled their tally of victories to climb to fifth, with the reserves also showing improvement to clamber to a mid-table finish with 6 wins and a draw from their 18 fixtures.
