Formed:  1879

Name History:  1879-1918 Geelong District Football Association (GDFA); 1919-21 Geelong District Football League (GDFL); 1922-32 Geelong Junior Football Association (GJFA); 1933-38 GDFL; 1939-45 GDFA; 1946-present Geelong And District Football League (G&DFL).  In 1979, the clubs comprising Division One of the G&DFL seceded en masse to form the Geelong Football League (GFL).
