GEPPS CROSS

Current Affiliation: South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) since 1984

Formed: 1952

Colours: Blue, red and white

Emblem: Rams

Senior Grade Premierships: North Adelaide District Football Association (NADFA) A1 Grade - 1965 (1 total); South Australian Football Association (SAFA) Division Two - 1982 (1 total); SAAFL Division Four - 1987 (1 total); Division Five - 1984 (1 total)

Formed in 1952, Gepps Cross endeavoured to join the South Australian Amateur Football League, but the club's application was refused. Instead, Gepps Cross lined up in the North Adelaide District Football Association and did well, although it was 1965 before the club broke through for a premiership, in A1 Grade. Over time the NADFA metamorphosed into the Norwood North Football Association, and later the South Australian Football Association. It was in this latter competition's second division that the Rams obtained their second flag in 1982. Two years later they finally gained admission to the SAAFL and slowly but steadily clambered their way up through the grades to division one which is where they continue to compete.
