The Rams’ first half a dozen seasons yielded no senior grade premierships, but the reserves went top in their debut season of 2004, thrashing Lismore Derrinallum in the grand final by 72 points. The under sixteens meanwhile have contested three grand finals, emerging victorious from those of 2005 and 2008.

Prior to merging with Dunkeld the Glenthompson Football Club had competed in the Mininera and District Football League for more than half a century, claiming senior grade flags in 1969, 1974, 1978, 1982, 1983 and 1985. Dunkeld had enjoyed a similarly lengthy involvement in the competition but had proved rather less successful, procuring just a single senior premiership in 1976.

In 2009 the Rams' seniors got as far as the preliminary final before losing to eventual premier Penshurst. A year later they made the ultimate breakthrough by claiming their first senior grade premiership thanks to a 13.8 (86) to 4.13 (37) grand final defeat of Tatyoon. The reserves almost made it a 'double' but fell short in their grand final clash with Tatyoon by just a couple of points.
