INVERLOCH-KONGWAK

Current Affiliation:  Alberton Football League (AlbFL) since 1996

Formed:  1957, when the Inverloch and Kongwak Football Clubs merged

Colours:  Navy blue and red

Emblem:  Demons

Senior Premierships:  Bass Valley-Wonthaggi and District Football League (BVWDFL) - 1966, 1968, 1973, 1983, 1985-6 (6 total)

Over the course of a thirty-nine season stint in the Bass Valley-Wonthaggi and District competition the Demons enjoyed a fairly consistent degree of success claiming half a dozen senior flags plus seven at reserves and four at thirds level.

The club's breakthrough senior premiership in 1966 came after a series of grand final failures. A second flag followed two years later, with the Demons' grand final opposition on both occasions being provided by Wonthaggi Rovers. The prospect of a premiership hat-trick had been ruined by Loch who claimed a surprise victory in the 1967 grand final by 11 points. A fortnight earlier the Demons had defeated Loch convincingly in the second semi final.

The most powerful teams in Inverloch-Kongwak's history to date were fielded during the 1980s as evidenced by a sequence of three flags in four seasons. However, since the last of these in 1986 the club's only premiership has been at reserves level in 2000.

Since entering the Alberton Football League the Demons have been consistently competitive, repeatedly qualifying for the finals and, on four occasions, the grand final itself, but as yet without success.
