Having won a premiership in their debut season the Eagles have continued to accumulate flags at the rate of at least one, and often more than one, per decade. They were particularly successful during the 1950s and 1960s, winning three out of five grand finals in the former decade and three out of four in the latter. Their most emphatic grand final triumph came in 1970 when they trounced Marble Range by 96 points, 20.16 (136) to 6.4 (40). Their most recent flag win in 2002 was also at the expense of Marble Range, but this time around the grand final was a much closer affair, with the Eagles edging home by 7 points, 9.9 (63) to 8.8 (56).
