LOCKLEYSCurrent Affiliation: South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) since 1986 Home Ground: Lockleys Oval Formed: 1951; merged with Torrensville United in 1979 but retained Lockleys name and logo Website: http://www.lockleysfc.com.au/ Colours: Navy blue and red Emblem: Demons Senior Grade Premierships: Glenelg South Football Association (GSFA) - 1965, 1974, 1978, 1982 (4 total); SAAFL Division Four - 1993 (1 total); Division Five - 1992 (1 total) Most Games: 432 by K.White between 1963 and 1987 The Demons competed in the Glenelg South Football Association from the time of their establishment in 1951 until the end of the 1985 season. They struggled initially, but by the mid-1960s had developed into one of the competition’s leading sides. A premiership in 1965 was followed by a couple more during the 1970s. In 1979 Lockleys merged with Torrensville United, although in some respects it appears to have been more of a takeover than a true, 50-50 amalgamation as the new club retained the Lockleys name, colours and insignia. Since 1986 the Demons have competed in the South Australian Amateur Football League, initially in A5 Grade, from which they achieved promotion as premiers in 1992. An A4 premiership came their way the very next year after a 16.12 (108) to 10.12 (72) grand final defeat of West Croydon. Where now? or
