Locomotives only spent five seasons in the QFL, but its feat in winning the 1907 and 1908 premierships ensured that the club's name will be remembered as long as football is played, and its history preserved.  

The premiership of 1907 was won by means of a 13.11 (89) to 6.13 (49) challenge final defeat of Wynnum, Locomotives having earned the right of challenge by finishing at the head of the ladder, and needing to invoke it after losing to Ipswich in a semi final.  Twelve months later, Locomotives came from third place to secure its second flag in a row, downing minor premiers City in a semi final, Ipswich in the final, and City again in the challenge final, 10.8 (68) to 4.4 (28).

After a fairly buoyant few years, Australian football in the Brisbane area in 1909 was beginning to struggle, with that season's premiership being contested by just four clubs, three fewer than in 1908.  Locomotives was not one of the initial casualties, but went into abeyance after a dismal 1909 season that saw it finish bottom without a win.
