Marion Football Club can boast a long and eventful history which, as of 2007, had produced a total of 8 senior premierships in various leagues and associations.  The last twenty seasons have seen the Rams as they became known during the 1970s compete in the strong Southern Football League where they have frequently featured among the competition front-runners.  During the 1990s the seniors suffered the misfortune of reaching the grand final, only to lose narrowly, on five occasions.  They finally made amends in 2000 when, for good measure, the reserves also went top.
