Marong’s sole senior grade Loddon Valley Football League premiership to date was claimed in 1989, six years after the club had commenced in the competition. Prior to 1983 Marong had spent time in both the Bendigo Football Association and the Golden City Football League.

The Panthers’ seniors qualified for the finals in fifth place in 2008 before losing their elimination final clash with Bridgewater by 3 goals. A year later they finished one place higher after overcoming Bridgewater in the elimination final before going down to Calivil United in the first semi final.
