From the late 1970s to the early '90s the Hawks enjoyed an unrivalled record, claiming no fewer than eight A Grade premierships. Its run of four consecutive successes between 1985 and 1988 matched the record established by Wembley during the first half of the previous decade. Mount Lawley's dominance of the competition at this time was reflected in the club's high rate of representation in Western Australian state and carnival teams, with no fewer than seven of its players achieving All Australian selection a total of ten times (see footnote 1). The Hawks' most recent senior flag was won in B Grade in 1997, and it is in B Grade that the seniors will line up in 2007. Where now? or Footnotes1. Brad Dunn led the way with selection in the 1985, 1987 and 1988 teams; Wayne Hardman was included in 1985 and 1987; Billy Armstrong (1988), Justin Cook (1988), Leigh Sprylan (1988), Geoff Horton (1989) and Ben Stewart (1991) complete the list.
