Home Ground:  Oval no. 2, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School

Formed:  1968

Colours:  Navy blue, sky blue and maroon

Senior VAFA Premierships:  E Central Section - 1996 (1 total); F Section - 1986 (1 total)

Senior Competition Best and Fairest Awards:  G.T. Moore Medal (B Section) - S.McPherson 2002; D.Biggs 2004 & 2005; T.Biggs 2007 (3 Medallists/4 Medals); L.S. Zachariah Medal (C Section) - S.McPherson 2001 (1 total);J. Fullerton Medal (E Section) - D.Tonks 1993 (1 total)

Formed in 1968, Old Essendon Grammarians participated in a number of different competitions between then and 1984, including the VAFA (1970-71), Essendon District Football League (EDFL) (1972-82) and Footscray District Football League (FDFL) (1983).  During this time the club developed a winning culture, as evidenced by its winning of two senior premierships, one in the EDFL's C Grade in 1976, and the other in 1983 in the A3 Section of the FDFL.

In 1984 the club returned to the VAFA where it has remained since, adding two further senior flags to its tally.  The first of these arrived in 1986 in F Section, and entailed a 17.11 (113) to 11.15 (81) grand final defeat of UHSOB.  The club's reserves team went top the same year.  In 1996 the side won the E East Section grand final against Williamstown CYMS, an achievement which has been a springboard to a steady ascent through the grades, albeit without any further senior premierships as yet.

Under the coaching of former Essendon, Brisbane and Kangaroos player David Calthorpe, Old Essendon Grammarians enjoyed a solid season in 2006, finishing 4th in B Grade, before improving to 3rd in 2007, which equalled the side's best ever finish.
