This team consists entirely of players (and a coach), born in countries other than Australia, whose careers, as of 31 December 2000, had occurred fully or predominantly during the twentieth century, which is taken to mean the period of time between 1 January 1901 and 31 December 2000.
Of all the teams in the Hall of Fame section, this was probably the hardest to finalise, and the likes of Mal Michael (Morningside, Collingwood and Brisbane) from Papua New Guinea, Jack Pannenburg (West Adelaide) from the Netherlands, Gil Butchart (Norwood) from Scotland, and the England-born John Dimmer (Subiaco and East Perth), Brian Mynott (St Kilda), Brain Mulvihill (West Torrens, North Melbourne and Woodville), and Andrew Johns (Box Hill and Sturt) could be considered particularly unfortunate not to make the final cut.
