PARRAMATTA

Affiliated:  NSWANFL 1962-3 as Parramatta, 1964-73 as Southern Districts; NSWAFL 1974-9 as Southern Districts; SFA 1980-present as Bankstown

The Parramatta Football Club spent just two seasons in Sydney football's top level as an independent organisation.  In 1964, it merged with Liverpool and Bankstown to form the Southern Districts Football Club, which competed with meagre success for the ensuing sixteen seasons.  An independent Bankstown Football Club re-emerged in 1980 since when it has competed, without so far securing a premiership, in the Sydney Football Association.
