Sydney Naval was intermittently involved in the New South Wales Australian National Football League for the better part of three decades, reaching seven grand finals, and winning three flags.  It was a highly competitive side for the most part, except for its last four seasons when it finished either last or second to last.  The club’s grand final triumphs were achieved at the expense of RAAF by 16 points in 1944, and Newtown by 3 points in 1960 and 31 points two seasons later.
