In 2006, Triabunna was one of two clubs admitted to the SthFL's regional league, the other being the newly formed Central Hawks.

Known as the Roos, Triabunna endured an inauspicious debut season which yielded no wins from 18 matches, a miserly percentage of 25.1%, and - needless to say - the wooden spoon.  Sadly, the 2007 season brought an identikit repeat of this performance.
