The 'Roos have competed in several different competitions over the years, including the South Midlands Football Association, the Sunday National Football League, and the WAFA. Prior to commencing in the Sunday Football League in 1984 the club had won senior premierships in 1969, 1975, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983. The club was fortunate in being able to attract a very high calibre of coach on several occasions, including Joe Fanchi, Greg Brehaut, Ian McCullouch, Gavin Carter and Les Fong. In addition, future media personality Denis Cometti was assistant coach to Fanchi for a time. Since commencing in the SuFL the 'Roos have added another three senior flags to their haul, with perhaps the most noteworthy coming in 1992 with a side severely depleted after the previous year's success. In 2006, Wanneroo Kingsway won 10 out of 18 matches to qualify for an elimination final clash with Gosnells, but after staying in touch for most of the first half the side lost its way and was overrun, losing in the end by 67 points.
